Helen felt her life enriched by all the many new friends she made during their many moves but still held dear her Whittier College gang.
Helen found enjoyment in volunteering in each city. Her greatest pleasures were the years spent as a docent at the L.A. County Museum of Natural History, and at the Assistance League of San Pedro/Palos Verdes/Ventura branches. She was a 50-year member of PEO where she found true friendship and rewarding work.
Helen and Warren retired to Tigard, Oregon in 2000 to be near their children. After 58 years of marriage, Warren passed away in 2004. Helen will be interred with her beloved husband at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
Helen is survived by her children, Michael and Thomas Earl, Susan Earl Nierengarten; her grandchildren, Michael and Stephen Nierengarten, and Michael Baehr; and her great grandchildren, Sebastian and Veronica Baehr.
