Floyd Wesley Pruett was born to William and Lola (Williams) Pruett in Iola, Illinois on February 7, 1916 and peacefully passed away on January 20, 2012. Floyd graduated with a degree from Illinois State Teachers College in Illinois. He served in the US Army for five years, retiring as a Major at the end of WWII. He worked for First National Bank (now Wells Fargo) in Portland for 29 years and retired in 1979 as a Vice President. During those working years he attended the American Institute of Banking (AIB) where he was the national recipient of the “Harold Stonier Award” for excellence in scholarship. Floyd was an avid golfer, traveled the world and loved to square dance. He was a member of the Cedar Hills United Church of Christ since 1960 and served as Treasurer of the Oregon Conference for three years. Floyd was also a member of the American Legion, Masonic Lodge, Kiwanis and was Summerfield Association President in Tigard, OR. Survivors include his wife Margaret (Crum) of over 70 years; daughter Brenda Pace and son-in-law Steve Kimple of Bend, OR; daughter Gail Miller and son-in-law Bill of Portland, OR; grandchildren, Clarke Miller of HCMC, Vietnam and Audrey Miller of Malibu, CA; and step-grandchildren Bret and Kevin Kimple.
