Beatrice was born and raised in Park Rapids, Minnesota to Fred and Mary Barg. She was the youngest of thirteen children and she was a twin. She grew up on a working farm. Beatrice was close to her mother; she spent the majority of the time in the house with her. At the age of tweny-one, she moved to Minneapolis. Shortly after moving there she met and married Frank Blohm. After getting married, Frank and Beatrice moved to Park Rapids where they worked and lived on a farm. They raised four children on the farm before moving to Minneapolis and then to Fargo, North Dakota. In 1954, they moved to Portland, Oregon. Beatrice worked at Meier and Frank in the packing warehouse for fifteen years. After she retired she spent a lot of time with her family. She then received her GED and learned to swim. Beatrice was active riding bikes, singing, dancing and driving her red sports car. In her later years she joined the Hot Shots Group and performed at senior centers throughout the greater Portland area. Beatrice was preceded in death by Frank Blohm. She is survived by husband, Carroll Hermanson, daughters, Caroline, Sheri, Nicholle and Darleen, twenty-five grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. A visitation will be held at Young’s Funeral Home in Tigard from 9:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday, April 27, 2013. A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Young’s Funeral Home. A private committal service will be held at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland on Monday, April 29, 2013.
