Theresa “Terri” Y. Martin of Thornton passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022. Terri was born in Denver, CO on March 25, 1957. In 1976, she married her high school sweetheart Robert D. “Bob” Martin. Their blessed and steadfast relationship blossomed as they raised three boys, making their home in Thornton. She found happiness in her garden, enjoying live music and theatre, cheering on the Broncos and the Rockies, and antiquing. More than anything, she treasured family and valued forgiveness. She fiercely fought a diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension for fifteen years before passing away surrounded by friends and family. In the words of one of her favorite artists, Garth Brooks, “It’s my life, it’s better left to chance / I could have missed the pain / But I’d have had to miss the dance.”
She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years Bob, sons Dion (Amanda) Martin of Brighton, Jeremy (Amanda) Martin of Broomfield, and Ryan Martin of Los Angeles, CA; sisters Maria (Bob) Aldrich, Grace Burgess, Sally (Don) Johnson; brother Joseph Espinoza; grandsons Matthew & Austin Martin; several brothers-and sisters- in-law; numerous nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends she considered her bonus family. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph & Phyllis Espinoza, in-laws Bobbie & Agnes Martin, and grandson Gabriel Martin.
