Robert "Bob" Dean Campbell

Robert Dean Campbell “Bob” passed away on March 19, 2024, at the age of 74. Bob was born on August 25, 1949, in Arvada, Colorado to Clifford and Ardith (Greenfield) Campbell. He grew up in Arvada, Colorado with his sister, Diane (Robbins) and he graduated from Arvada West High School.

After some time at Western Technical College Bob volunteered to the United States Navy (1970-1974) and served on the USS Enterprise, specializing in maintenance of aircraft hydraulic systems. During his service he took up photography and his family later enjoyed evenings watching 35mm slide shows of his time on ship and in various Asia Pacific ports.

In 1970, Bob married Jeannie (McCall), and together they had three children: Michael, Michelle, and Matthew. As a believer in the salvation from sin offered through Jesus Christ, Bob prioritized his family’s participation in the fellowship of Christians at the First Baptist Church of Arvada where he served as a deacon and where he and his father Clifford supported the merger of the church with Tri-City Baptist Church. His family benefitted from many long-term relationships there, and they consistently heard the good news of Jesus Christ and grew in their faith and understanding of what it means to follow Jesus. This spiritual impact continues through his children and their families.

Bob enjoyed the outdoors and involved his family in various outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, snow skiing, water skiing, and 4WD adventures in the high mountains of Colorado. The family also enjoyed several trips to significant locations all across the continental United States.

After completing his honorable service in the United States Navy, Bob entered his working years and demonstrated his entrepreneurial spirit through running Campbell’s Automotive and subsequently working in various roles in the family business, Campbell’s Cement and Suburban Reddi Mix, which was started by his grandfather Roy Campbell. Later Bob started and operated several businesses and was an investor in various enterprises related to his interests. He also became a pilot and enjoyed flying his Cessna 172.

Later in life, Bob married Linda Campbell. Together they lovingly and faithfully cared for Clifford and Ardith Campbell during their final years. During this season, Bob enjoyed many of his life-long interests and hobbies, such as riding his motorcycle (a 2003 Yamaha Road Star Silverado 1600) with friends, and the ownership (and significant upgrades) of his and Linda’s three Corvettes. Bob and Linda enthusiastically participated in the 2019 Corvette Caravan to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. He expertly upgraded and repainted his 2017 Corvette Grand Sport and received honors for his work in the Top of the Rockies Car Show in August 2022. Additionally, Bob’s legacy of meeting needs that came to his attention continued, both for individual acquaintances, friends, and family, and through his and Linda’s extensive volunteer work at Camp Grace in Wyoming. In his final years and months Bob continued in the Christian faith and repentance, and his hope in Christ deepened.

Bob is survived by his wife, Linda; his sister, Diane (Rick) Robbins; his aunt, Norma (Greenfield) Newens; his children, Michael (Rebekah Bennett), Michelle (Stephen) Johnson, and Matthew (Kristin Coleman); eight grandchildren; and his former wife and the mother of his children, Jeannie Mills.

In the sure hope of rising again with Christ, Bob will be laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO 80236. A private Committal Service for family and invited guests only will be held on the morning of Thursday, March 28th, 2024.

A public Memorial Service for Bob will be held on Thursday, March 28th at 2:00 PM at Tri-City Baptist Church: 6953 W. 92nd Lane, Westminster, CO 80021, with a reception to follow for guests to share memories and condolences with each other and the family. All friends and family of Bob are welcome to the memorial service and reception.
