Mike, beloved son and brother passed peacefully away after a long battle with cancer. Mike was an outstanding big brother and father figure, always willing to give time and energy to the family. He was the glue that helped keep the famity close after our mother and father passed. Mike touched many lives with his generosity of time, his talent for being a handyman and car repair guy.
Mike served his country during the Vietnam war as a helicopter crew chief in the Army. After his honorable discharge he supported fellow veterans and their causes.
Aside from family one of his greatest joys was riding his Harley on solo rides, seeing the country as he covered thousands of miles, visiting his sister in Utah and his cousins in Minneapolis. He had a soft spot for Fort Ransom where he spent much of his childhood. He loved doing the group rides with the American Legion motorcycle riders group he belonged to, especially the memorial rides.
Mike had a keen interest in camping and in auto racing. He was a big supporter of our mom’s interest in running races and triathlon. He became her official photographer. Mike was an avid skier flying down any run with style. When his knees became sore he would switch over to the gentler runs our mom favored.
We will always love you and cherish the memories we made with you.
