Obituary for Kathleen Diane Rosa.
On April 24th, 2023, Kathleen Diane Rosa was called home to be with her heavenly father. Kathleen was born on October 26th, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois. Her parents, Edward and Therese Reiner, had 8 children in total.
Kathy was the 4th born and her siblings include Edward Gene, Michael Robert, Margaret Mary, Therese Lynn, Carol Anne, Joseph John, and John Edward.
When Kathleen was a child, she attended 1st through 8th grade at St. Christopher Catholic School. She
attended Bremen High School for grades 9-12 and graduated in 1973. She soon transitioned to Colorado
where she was married and had two children, Joseph Rosa and Garrett Rosa. Soon after she met the love of her life, Eugene John Rosa, who lived across the street from Kathleen on 99th Avenue in Thornton, Colorado. They fell deeply in love and were married on August 11th, 1981. The birth of Kathleen’s third child, Gina Rosa, made their family complete.
Kathleen was deeply devoted to God, to family, and to supporting the family business. She was a secretary for Rocco Rosa Painting and supported the management of multiple investment properties. She had learned a lot from her father about keeping the books clean and accounting for every fine detail.
Many days were spent in her kitchen with her children afoot. Kathleen was a very skilled cook and you were lucky if you had a chance to try her homemade sauce, meatballs, rukal, cannolis, rhubarb pie, and Christmas cookies. Many of the ingredients came from her garden, as she loved to be close to the earth and God's gifts to her and her family. She taught religious education at her local church and could always be found reading her bible at the dinner table or leafing through the small red bible in her purse that she took everywhere. She volunteered at the church food bank for six years and lit up the room every time she entered.
Kathleen loved going on road trips and “Rod” Runs (Hotrods) trips in Eugene’s 1926 Chrysler Sedan with her family. She was always talking to her brothers and sisters and wanted to keep up with all the family
happenings.
She cared for her mother and father in very special ways until their passing.
Kathy is survived by her husband Eugene, sons Joseph and Garrett, daughter Gina, daughter-in-law Jody,daughter-in-law Jenise, son-in-law Ian, and her grandchildren Ella, Maya, Aria, and Harper. She is also survived by her brothers Edward, Michael, Joe, and John as well as her sisters Margaret and Carol. She was predeceased by her youngest sister, Therese.
Her laugh, her joy, and her spirit will be missed forever.
A visitation for Kathleen will be held Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229. A funeral service will occur Thursday, May 4th, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery. The entombment will be 11am at Olinger Highland Cemetery.
