Jim Holschen Sr, of Broomfield CO, went home to Heaven on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, in Aurora CO of COVID complicated by Parkinson’s. He was born on November 23, 1936, in Spokane WA to Henry & Martha Holschen.
Jim grew up in Spokane & Mead WA. He graduated from Mead High School in 1956. Jim served 2 years in the US Army, most of it in Germany. He came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior at 9 years old at church camp. His faith sustained him throughout his life. He worked for many years in facilities maintenance for multiple companies. His later years were filled with reading the Bible, watching Jeopardy, and doting on his grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his wife of 54 years, Darlene Holschen; daughter Dorothea Sorensen & her husband John; son James Marsh-Holschen & his wife Alexis; all of Broomfield; 5 grandchildren: James Holschen III, Denver CO, Luna Holschen, Boston MA, Ethan Holschen, Virginia Marsh-Holschen, Crosby Marsh-Holschen, Broomfield; brother John Holschen, Snohomish WA; brother Richard Holschen, Spokane Valley WA; sister-in-law, Diana Holschen, Burien WA; numerous nieces & nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews & one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry & Martha Holschen, his brother Don Holschen, sister-in-law Patty Holschen and nephew Shane Holschen.
Jim will have a private family interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO on December 14th. A memorial service will be held on December 28th at First Baptist Church of Westminster, CO at 2:00pm.
