Hal was born March 20, 1932 in Haney County, WI to Virgil and Charlotte Rogers. He is the oldest of 11 children. He and the family lived on a farm in Barnum, WI until he was 12 years of age and them moved to Boscobel, WI into a 3 room house that his parents lived in until their deaths.
He served in the Army from 1949 to 1951. He was stationed at Fort Riley in Kansas, Camp Carson in Colorado Springs and in Alaska before it was a State.
Hal was introduced to his wife, Genese by her coworker, Eloise in 1953. Hal and Genese were married November 28, 1954.
They moved to the Denver area in 1955. He began driving for Navajo Freight Lines and remained there 20+ years. Hal continued to work for several other transportation companies the next 20 years.
Hal and Genese had three children, Keith, Valerie and Leslie Rogers. Hal always considered Genese's daughter Raylene as his own and adopted her in 1962.
He is survived by his wife Genese; children Raylene (Norm) Smith, Keith (Chris) Rogers, Valerie Leeman, and Leslie Rogers; grandchildren Keith Rogers Jr (Zoey), Jeffery (Amanda) Rogers, Erin Rogers, Paige Irwin, Vania (Rich) Wilkinson, and Bryce Swanson; great grandchildren Dylon Rogers, Treavor Rogers, Austin Rogers, Zoey Rogers, Nicholas Rogers, Cameron Smith, James Wilkinson and Tyler Wilkinson. He is also survived by 7 sisters, Loretta Reed, Joan Rogers, Charleen Olson, Beverly Sutherland, Carol Stevens, Linda Griffith and Patricia Keller; brother Leroy Rogers; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Delores Hunt and Mary Ann Rogers and great granddaughter Haley Rogers.
