Esther Swink, 95, of Broomfield, CO passed away February 23, 2012 in Louisville, CO. She was the oldest daughter of Nick Deines and Rosina Gomke of Brighton, CO who were immigrants from Germany. Esther lived in Broomfield, CO since 1937. She was born April 15, 1916 in Denver, CO. She married Walter A. Swink on February 20, 1938 and they moved a house from Superior, CO onto Walter's dad's place (Allen Swink) on the corner of his 160 acre farm at 144th Ave. and Zuni St., in Broomfield, CO. That is where they started their life together raising 4 children there. They farmed there as well as several other farms in the area raising mostly wheat (as many as 5000 acres of land) for the next 63 years until Walter passed away in 1983 and then the farming was continued by their eldest son Alvin, for the next 22 years until it was sold and the home was donated back to Superior as a historical building. She loved her family and had a passion for taking care of her home and garden especially her roses. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by children; daughter Sylvia (Sauer) of Broomfield, CO, son Alvin of Commerce City, CO, daughter Sheryl (Lowry) of Severance, CO, and son Terry of Lyons, CO; grandchildren; Janet, Darren, Doug, Stephanie, Shelly, Karen, Carie, Scott, Heather, Chris, and Matt; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild. Visitation Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 10:00AM to 11:30AM. Burial at 12:00PM; both at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, 10201 No. Grant St., Thornton, CO.
