Elaine was born to Fred and Mary (Crofutt) Smith on Jan. 4th 1939 in Wagner, South Dakota.
She was one of 10 siblings. Elaine proudly drove a school bus for special needs children at School District 50. She retired after 37 years. On June 6th, 1992 she married Robert Doerksen in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) Doerksen (husband); sister, Leota (Babe) Vollmer; brother, Glen Smith; children, Connie (Lonnie) Pitts, Anthony (Kathy) Carda, Galen (Tracy) Carda, Kimberlee (Mark) Newby and a “BUS LOAD” of grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and seven siblings, Elaine was preceded in death by her son, Kelly Bailey and grandson, Chad Buus.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held 1pm, Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Boen Ranch, 14095 Brighton Road in Brighton. A luncheon will follow at Boen Ranch.
