Dorothy Lee Alderson

Dorothy (Dotty) Lee Alderson, 91, was called home quickly and peacefully at her home just like she had always prayed and hoped for on March 4, 2017. Dotty was born on October 9, 1925 in Denver, CO to George Edward and Mary Alma Briggs. She resided 86 of her 91 years in Denver. Dottie had two siblings, Marsh Edward Briggs and Donald George Briggs. She attended college at David Lipscomb College (University) in Henderson, Tennessee. She married the love of her life, Philip Drysdale Alderson, on June 29, 1946 and they were together for 51 years until the day he died on July 10, 1997. In addition to raising 5 children, Dotty was a real estate broker and with her husband as her agent/partner, they sold and rented many properties allowing all 5 children to attend Christian Colleges.

Dotty was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Briggs, husband, Philip Alderson, daughter, Carol Ann Kenny, son-in-law Gene Neading, and great-grandchild, Doran Phipps.

She is survived by her children; Donna Lee Neading of Round Rock, TX, Marsha Jean Foster & husband Art and ex-husband Jack Burroughs of Las Cruces, NM, Phyllis Dee Phipps & husband Phillip of Edmond, OK, son-in-law Russell Kenney & wife, Suzanne of Elk City, OK, Richard Wade Alderson & wife Lisa of Lantana, TX; grandchildren, Ryan Russell Neading & wife Amy of Austin, TX, Ross Edward Neading of Washington, D.C., Amanda Lee Neading of Edmond, OK, Dottie Jean Gunn & husband Jason of Las Cruces, NM, Jennifer Molebash & husband Philip of Pasadena, CA, Townsend Phillip Phipps & wife Tina of Little Rock, AR, Blaine Alderson Phipps & wife Paige of Little Rock, AR, Jessica Ruth Kenney of Oklahoma City, OK, Dustin Bryce Alderson & wife Jenny of Asheville, NC, Alex J. Alderson & wife Olivia of Ft. Worth, TX, Philip Daniel Alderson & wife Carley of Argyle, TX, Evan James Alderson of Edmond, OK; great-grandchildren, Jacob Timothy Neading, Evelyn Mary Molebash, Luke Philip Neading, Jayden Reece Gunn, Jaxen Caroll Hall, Jenson Ezekiel Molebash, Jalyn Elizabeth Hall, Devyn May Gunn, Adam Michael Neading, Isabelle Hope Molebash, Emyrsyn Lynn Gunn, Emory Briggs Phipps, Lucy Gene Fleischer, Miller Blaine Phipps, and new baby Alderson to be born in August 2017.

Our family wants to especially thank MRCC for loving and caring for mom these last five years. She truly thought she had found heaven on earth and loved all of you just like she loved her family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Memorial Road Church of Christ Edmond, OK with a lunch following the service for family and out of town guests at MRCC. Graveside services will be held at 1:15 PM Staging area "C" on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO
