Donna L. Potempa

Donna Lynn Zewe-Potempa (52) of Broomfield CO passed away on May 7, 2019 at Longmont United Hospital in Longmont CO after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Monongahela, PA on May 10, 1966 to Dennis and Judy (Kenny) Zewe. Donna spent the majority of her life in Colorado but always valued her Pennsylvania roots. She graduated from Pomona High School in Arvada CO. Donna was especially proud of her long career in higher education administration primarily at Regis University and Metropolitan State University of Denver. Donna was happiest spending time with her family and friends. She would light up a room and bring a smile to everyone’s face. Donna will always be remembered for her joy, selflessness, and enduring kindness toward others. Donna is survived by her husband, Rick; her daughter, Brittany Samm (Dan) of Frederick CO; stepsons, Kevin, Josh (Katie), and Sean Potempa; her parents, Dennis and Judy Zewe of Frederick CO; a brother, Dennis Zewe Jr. (Kristine) of Broomfield; In-Laws, Sharon Saavedra (Don) and Richard Potempa (Ann); granddaughters Leia, Harlee Rose, and Alivyah Potempa; niece and nephew, Jessica Leary (Zach) of Arvada CO and Brad Zewe of Broomfield, CO; great-nephew and niece, Logan and Reese Leary; her precious Chihuahua, Daisy; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A Celebration of Donna’s life will be held at Olinger Highland Mortuary, 10201 Grant Street, Thornton CO 80229 on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.
