Carolyn Lynda Ortega was born April 28, 1968, in Denver, CO and grew up in Commerce City. She was the youngest of five children and was raised by her older sister, Laura Gonzales. Carolyn spent some time in California & Oregon before returning to make Colorado her permanent home.
On May 31, 1996, she met her husband, Tony Sanchez. Carolyn especially enjoyed visiting downtown Denver for social gatherings, festivals or parades. She and her husband also enjoyed frequent trips ot Centeral City. She was also a sports fan, cheering for all of the professional teams, and some college teams, in Colorado.
Carolyn loved dancing and although she was not able to hear the music she never let that get in her way.
Family was very important to Carolyn and her favorite holiday was Christmas.
She loved to bake and try new things.
Carolyn lived life to the fullest.
She was loving, understanding, compassionate and had a big heart.
Her vibrant life left a big impact on her family and she will be missed greatly.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Tony Sanchez; godson, Rey Gonzales; sister, Renee Gonzales; brothers, Roger and Andrew Ortega; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Joan Ortega; and sister, Laura Gonzales.
A Visitation & Rosary will be held Sunday, May 5, from 6-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, May 6, at 10 am, all at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 355 S. Navajo Street, Denver, 80223.
