Barbara Jean Osborn passed away peacefully in Windsor, Colo. on December 31, 2017. She was 81. Born March 26, 1936 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to George and Isabel Pilling, Barbara grew up on a farm outside of town until she married George H. Osborn in 1955. They soon moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa where they lived for two years and then to Estherville, Iowa where they started a refrigeration and air conditioning business and had two children. In 1961 they moved to Colorado. Barbara worked at Leroy Drive Elementary as a para-professional, cleaned houses and later worked for Storage Technology. She and George had opportunities to travel to Europe, Australia and New Zealand. After George's death in 1995, Barbara decided to get a part time job at HoneyBaked Ham where she loved meeting and talking with customers. She loved doing crafts, sewing and was active in Red Hat Society, TOPS and a widows group. She was a very social person and enjoyed her friends' company. Barbara had four grandchildren: Gregory Mees of Minneapolis Minn.; McKenzie Osborn of Fort Collins, Colo.; Kayla Mees of Denver, Colo.; and Haley Osborn of Fort Collins, Colo. She treasured these kids and was very active in their lives as they grew up. Barbara is survived by her son Steven G. Osborn (Karen), Sherry R. Mees (Jeffrey), her four grandchildren and her brother Robert Pilling of Oregon.
