Born on August 26,1941 in Union Town, Pennsylvania, Anita was the daughter of the late Stephen and Bertha Valesko. She graduated from Donora High School, where she served as the lead drum majorette and was crowned prom queen. Anita frequently shared stories about Stan "the Man" Musial, the renowned baseball player who also attended Donora High School. After various travels and military experiences, Anita moved to Colorado in 1965 and made it her home. Anita worked as an administrative assistant in the airline industry and fondly remembered her days and friends at Ports of Call and the FAA.
Anita was an avid animal lover, and her passions included travel, dancing and white sandy beaches.
Anita is survived by her beloved and dedicated husband of 37 years, Don Weiss; her children, Steve (Lori) Watson and Tom Watson; her stepchildren, Duane (Cammie) Weiss, Gloria (Ron) Dalton and Debra (Don) Finger; and her adored grandchildren, Karissa, Shayne, Tanner, Justin (Kassi), Sydney, Lauren, Lindsey (Rahul), Heather (Marcus), Adam (Serena), Sabrina, and Sam. She is also survived by her sister, Patti Visnich (George) and nephews J. Scott and Chris. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Anita will be fondly remembered by all. Her legacy of love and kindness will endure in the hearts of her family and friends.
A celebration of Anita ’s life will be held on October 18, 2024, at 2 PM at Olinger Highland Mortuary, 10201 Grant St in Thornton. A reception will follow at the same location.
