Susan, David and I are so sad to hear of your dear dads passing. We send our heartfelt condolences to you and your family.
As difficult as this time is please know we are holding you in our hearts and sending you our support and love. 



Andrew and I will miss a very special person in our lives.  Since moving to Canada Tom has been a part of our lives through thick and thin.  We both have very fond memories of Tom and the family and we will always be grateful for the experiences we all shared as two families worked to develop a life in a new country.  So many fantastic memories, events, trips and pictures to cherish.  

Karen and Honor also send there thoughts and sorrow and both will miss a kind, witty friendly man who always had a story to tell.

Our thoughts are now with Joyce and the family as they go through this difficult time.

Dear Joyce: Many fond memories of Tom. As smoking buddies we had a lot of opportunities to talk one on one. He had a great sense of humour which always resulted in a lot of laughs. He will be missed by many but I'm sure most of all by you and members of his family.

Jackie and I were saddened to hear about Tom’s passing. Our condolences to Joyce, Susan and Jonathan and their extended families. Tom and I started at the TTC on the same day and did our training together even though Tom was a Manchester transit veteran. Joyce and Tom blazed the way for more relatives to come to Canada and fit in like they were born here. Unfortunately Jackie and I are traveling on Friday and will be unable to attend the service. 

Our sincere condolences to Joyce and family on yours and our loss.  We will miss Tom greatly.

In 2008 Jackie and I moved into the city.  On Remembrance Day I went to to the service and my friend and I visited Branch 66 for the first time.  There was a meal in the Banquet Hall upstairs and by the time we arrived, there were no more seats available.  Tom saw our dilemma and invited us to sit with him and the Colour Party at their table.  During the meal he and I discovered that we are both Ex Brits - he from the North and me from the South.   He suggested I joined the Branch and he called Joan Williams over and they signed me up!  I am proud to say that I followed Tom into the Colour Party and the rest is history. Thank you Tom, I will never forget.

Dear Joyce and Family,

My sincere condolences in your time of grief.  Thomas/Tom/Tommy was such a dear man. 

We first met many years ago when he expanded his karaoke wings and he and his "cronies" started coming to Branch 527 for our monthly, then alternate (with Branch 66) Saturday Night Karaoke's. With Ian, "Wee" Ian, Danny and Tommy as regulars, the 66 Boys (as I called them) would often bring along many others with them (their own groupies). They were among our best advertisers.  We went through a few different Karaoke Hosts over the years, including Randy, Thomas, Peter and others and the 66 Boys were always there, led by Tom. Tom even hosted once or twice himself, as a fill-in, when others were not available. As any who have done it, including myself, it takes a special type of person for that role. Tom was well suited to it.  

Randy Petrie said, "Ian was the joker and Tom played his straight man". I once actually said that to them and Tom's response was: "Well Stuart, I guess that makes you our "not-so-straight man". We laughed and laughed.  We often shared a joke or a verbal jab! Together, Tom and Ian were proof that Scotland and England really could co-exist!  Always jovial, friendly and accepting of everyone, laughing and joking around, people loved to spend time with him. 

Tom was also a proud promoter of the activities of the Legion and Legionnaires.

Cheers to you Tommy, mate! For your love of life, your love of laughter, your love of song, and your love of people, you will be sorely missed!

Rest In Peace, Tom! 

And keep the song book open for the rest of us! We'll be there to join you soon enough...but hopefully not too soon!

I met Tommy for the first time 42 years ago as a teenager through my relationship with Susan his daughter.   I spent a lot of time with Tommy, Joyce, Johnathan and of course Susan for the next 6 years.  I have so many fond memories of him and the family even until this day.  He showed patience with a sometimes crazy teenager and eventually made me feel as if I was part of the Walsh family as did Joyce.  I got to know not only them very well but even many of their relatives both in Canada and from England and again was always made to feel as if I was part of the family.  We would play golf together, although he was much better at watching golf than playing golf and he taught me more than I ever wanted to know about Manchester United Soccer (oops football).  He always had a smile and a quiet way about himself.  His family was always foremost in his mind.  I could go on and on with many stories both humorous and not so humorous about him but I will keep those memories for myself.   Rest easy Tommy.  Joyce, Johnathan and Susan you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am saddened to hear of Tom's passing.  May you find comfort in the many wonderful memories you have of him and consolation through friends and family.

I met Tom about 17 years ago, along with his partner in crime, Ian.

At Branch 66 for Karaoke, on a Sunday afternoon  there they were, both of them, having a beer and singing a song! 
A perfect recipe, Beer & song,
They were both good singers! 

Respected and loved by many, they sat at the head of a table which was usually filled each week with people wanting to sit with them.
It was like the Last Supper!

The Show within a show.
They were entertaining, funny and friendly! 
As time went on, I would sit with them to hear plenty of stories of younger days.

Ian was the character and Tom was the straight man.
It was a Great time!!!
Starting usually around 2, the Legion would start to fill, with almost everyone wandering over to greet Tom & Ian.
Sort of like the Godfathers!
Then often, Joyce & Maddie (Ian's wife) would wander in and join the party.

As the song goes....
Those were the days my friends!!

Like many of you, I really enjoyed time spent with Tom Walsh.
His time in England, then on to his time here, that provided us with wonderful stories, knowledge and plenty of laughs!

A while ago, Ian left us,
And things changed.

We will certainly miss Tom.

A singer of many songs, 
he had a great voice!

I will forever think of Tom 
singing this song to his beautiful Joyce.

Remember when
I was young and so were you
Time stood still
Love was all we knew....

Ah Tommy , what can I say about this guy that hasn’t been said already, Tommy always made me laugh with his whippet sense of humour it was so hard to best him in a game of joke telling a true gentleman in every aspect. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him .

One of the nicest customers! Always put a smile on my face and made me laugh! He will be missed greatly. My condolences to Mrs. Walsh and the family. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Tommy and I worked together on the same train many times over our years at the TTC. He had a fabulous sense of humour I enjoyed his friendship immensely. We were the brunt of each other's practical jokes on many occasions. My heart goes out to all of his family and friends. He will be sorely missed.
