Born April 10, 1927 in Toronto, Ray passed away peacefully on June 25, 2009, holding the hand of his loving wife Arlene with his son Gregg by his side. "Razor" touched the lives of many people both professionally and personally and will surely be missed. Ray retired as an Insurance Executive with Manulife Financial, having previously been a V.P. of Franklin Life and a Regional Director of Agencies for Continental American in Wilmington, Delaware. Among his many accomplishments was being a Life Time Member of the Million Dollar Roundtable and serving on the Board of the Toronto Life Underwriters Association. Ray was also active in community affairs serving on the Board of Thornhill Country Club and as its President in 1965. As well, he served on the Board of Management of Forest Hill Arena and Hockey Association. In 1980, Toronto's Mayor honored Ray for his service by presenting him with the City of Toronto Medal of Service. Ray is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years Arlene, his children Lori, Brad and Gregg, son-in-law Jeff Woodyatt, grandsons Mark and Kevin Woodyatt and his brothers Reginald and Bruce.
