It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our brother, Nicholas Ferraro, on November 5, 2021, at the age of 26. Nicholas rejoins his parents Sergio and Gwendoline Ferraro in eternal life. He leaves behind his beloved siblings Joseph (Teresa), Anthony, and Julia, his niece Vienna, and his dear aunts Patricia, Loretta (Louis), and Dale.
Nicholas had a gentle soul and a heart of gold. While he had a tough exterior, his intentions were pure and deeply rooted in protecting those he loved. Family meant everything to him. Nicholas always looked up to and admired his brothers and fiercely protected his sister. As they grew older, he found a best friend in his brother Anthony. They often spent entire days together at work and then headed to the lake to fish and BBQ with friends. Nicholas was happiest in these moments, surrounded by friends, family, and nature doing what he loved most – he found peace on the lake.
What many people didn’t know is that Nicholas struggled with mental illness for many years. Though his mental health was a constant battle, he did not let this define him. Despite the hand he was dealt, he never waivered in his strength, kindness, and compassion and lived life on his own accord. He was loving and generous, he never judged, and was the type of person that would give you the shirt off his back. Those who knew Nicholas knew that he was a carbon copy of our father, Sergio, which always brought us peace and comfort. Although his life was short, we hold the laughter and memories close to our hearts and choose to remember all the special times we shared. Nicholas will be remembered as a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend.
A private visitation will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 to be followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary Immaculate Church (10295 Yonge St, Richmond Hill, ON L4C 3B9) at 10:30AM. The capacity of the church has been met through advance registration. The family asks all were not able to register to please join them virtually for Mass through the link provided. https:www.youtube.com/channel/UCJkYr0TN9rO8_sTKOVMb09w/videos?view=57
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association – Ontario (CMHA), in Nicholas’s honour.
