She was a woman of great compassion who obtained her nursing degree in 1948 and taught and worked as a bedside nurse at St. Michael's Hospital and at St. Joseph's Hospital (Peterborough), touching the lives of many. Mary was a kind and beautiful soul whose love of laughter and boundless faith was a source of light, comfort and example to those she loved. She was a model of faithfulness and acceptance during her physical challenges of the last two years. We are grateful for the loving care and friendships she made with the staff at Providence Healthcare (4th and 5th floor teams) and for her wonderful circle of friends and relatives who supported her through her journey. Friends may call on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 from 2 - 4 & 6 - 9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 25, 2010 at St. Edward the Confessor R. C. Church (75 Churchill Avenue). Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
