Margaret (Joan) Redding

Margaret Joan Redding (nee Price), age 89, of Thornhill, Ontario passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022.

Born July 14, 1932 and raised in Greater Manchester, England, Joan married her husband John Redding (Mar 31, 1924 – Sep 14, 2011) on September 10, 1956. They soon left England for a life in Pakistan where they had many great adventures and lived intermittently for 7 years before coming to Montreal Canada in 1966 and then in 1974 finally settling at their home Thornhill Ontario.

Joan was a passionate and prolific artist who enjoyed painting wildlife, nature scenes, and country homes in a variety of mediums including oil, acrylics, and watercolors. She loved animals and adored children. Joan & John, each others true-love, were deeply devoted to family and the raising their four children.

Predeceased by John her husband of 55 years, her nephew Peter Brocklehurst, and her grandchild Grace Grandy, Joan is survived by her four children Michael, Steven, Mars (Margaret) Stone, and Louis Leitch as well as her sister Anne Brocklehurst and her grandchildren Emily Jacques, Gabrielle Joan Redding, John Redding, Matthew Redding, Andrew Redding, Ruby Grandy, Brandon Leitch, Marcus Leitch and Connor Leitch as well as much loved niece Elaine.

A service will be held at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home in Thornhill on Saturday, February 12th at 1pm.
