Passed away suddenly but peacefully of a heart condition at Sunnybrook Hospital on August 4, 2018. Born and raised in Montreal , Bob studied mechanical engineering at McGill and worked in the field for a decade. Looking for a new challenge, he returned to school to earn a PhD in clinical psychology at Queen’s University, where he met his beloved wife, Margie. Passionate about his hobbies, Bob was at various times a golfer, jazz musician, photographer, tennis player, college football supporter, travel enthusiast, wine aficionado, and Everest fanatic. Though he suffered from muscular dystrophy in later years, he never let it get him down and was able to enjoy life despite his limited mobility. Predeceased by his wife, Margaret, his parents Ormsby Weir and Ethel Kelley, and his brother Duncan, Bob is lovingly remembered by his children Cameron and Alexandra, son-in-law Farron, brothers-in-law Tom and Mike, sisters-in-law Cindy and Janine, nephews Peter, Brendan, Ryan and Sean and niece Laura. The visitation will start at 12pm on Saturday, August 11th, followed by the funeral at 1pm, both at R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street (at Goulding, south of Steeles), Toronto , ON , M2M 3W9 . In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pancreatic Cancer Canada , a charity chosen by Bob in honour of his late wife.
