Passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at the age of 86. Predeceased by her beloved husband Ted, her dear sister Joy and brother Norman. Fondly remembered by her step-children Marianne (Les), Donald, and Susan (Fred), her goddaughter Barbara (Cam) and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her many friends in Canada and England. Doreen was retired from Ontario Hydro after many years of service. Special thanks to Dr. David Kendal, Dr. Jennifer Arvanitis, her nurse Juliette and caregivers Dayna, Michelle, Mallory, Lorelei, and Amanda for their care and compassion. Friends may call at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles) on Saturday, February 19, 2011 from 2-3 p.m. with a Funeral Service to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides or a charity of your choice.
