Late in life, in June of 2003, he married Doris Anne Decunha. Both Doris and Charlie shared a passion for golf. They were members of Credit Valley Golf and Country Club in Mississauga, and spent their winters golfing in Apopka, Florida where they were both members of Erroll Estates Golf and Country Club.
Doris came from a large family and Charlie was promptly adopted as Grandpa Chuck. The next 20 odd years were a very happy time for both Chuck and Doris filled with much love, laughter and happiness – all squeezed in between their golf rounds.
Doris passed away in October of 2022. Charlie was very despondent and depressed. He finally succumbed to the two demons that had plagued him throughout his retirement years- COPD and Lung Cancer.
