Catherine Clare Moroney

March 21, 1918 - August 15, 2008

Peacefully gone to eternal life on the feast of the Assumption, at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington at the age of 90. Beloved wife of Joseph for 64 wonderful years. Loving mother of Peter (Pat) of Burlington, Edward of Toronto, the late Mary Catherine McGuire (Gregory), and Stephen of Dartmouth, N.S. Much loved grandmother of Kevin, Shannon and Cara Moroney, Laura Hesse-Moroney, Denise and Michaela McGuire, and Christopher, Stephanie, and Suzanne Moroney and step-grandmother of Rebecca Hesse. Catherine is now reunited with her daughter Mary Catherine, and her sisters Dorothy and Helen. Catherine was a graduate of St. Michael's College, U of T, 1940. She and Joe were dedicated parishoners of St. Bonventure for 50 years, donating tirelessly of their time. Catherine served a term as President of the C.W.L. She will be fondly remembered for her many years of service to the Good Shepherd Refuge of Toronto, Thompson House in Don Mills, and to the Meals on Wheels Program in Toronto. Special thank you to Pat Moroney and Greg McGuire for their compassionate care. The staff of Marthas Landing Retirement Residence in Burlington have been particularly caring of Catherine and Joe since their recent arrival. Friends may call on Monday, August 18, 2008 from 1-3 & 6-8 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bonaventure Roman Catholic Church (1300 Leslie Street). Interment to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Good Shepherd Ministries.
