J.J. was born May 29, 1950 in Guilford County to Marshall Glen and Doyce Peeler Johnson.
He worked for R & L Carriers in China Grove. He loved all his “buds”, as he called them that worked with him. J.J. enjoyed being outside and riding his motorcycle. He loved football and was a big fan of the Raiders. He always enjoyed and cherished his time with his wife, Carol, and their dog, Artie. He will be greatly missed.
James (J.J.) Johnson was a beloved husband to his wife Carol Johnson and loving father to his children, James (Jimmy) Johnson of Trinity and Toni Hamilton of Thomasville. He was dearly loved by his six grandchildren, Angela Borland, Emily Elliott, Caroline, Amanda, Matthew, and Laura Hamilton. He recently welcomed his first great-grandchild, Aubrey Hamilton, into the world. J.J. is also survived by his father, Marshall Glen Johnson, a brother, Roger Johnson of Greensboro; brother-in-laws, Charles Hadden of Little Rock, AR and Perry Hadden of West Heleena, AR; sister-in-law, Joy Rose and her husband Greg of Greensboro.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Thomasville Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will follow at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
