Duane G. Manthei

Unexpectedly passed away on July 9, 2011 at the age of 58 years. Best friend and life partner of Sandy (nee Jabes) for 34 years. Dear brother of Diane Manthei and Dean (Nila) Manthei. Loving uncle of Angela and Ashley Manthei. Dear son of the late Donald Manthei and the late Donna (Jack) Vervloet. Dear brother-in-law of Carol Taylor. Duane is survived by and will be greatly missed by his dear friends, Tom and Sarah Ramlow, grandchildren; Anne, Douglas and Charles, other relatives, many friends, colleagues and students.

Duane grew up in Milwaukee. He graduated from Custer High School, earned an Associate Degree from MATC and a Bachelor of Science Degree from UW-Stout. Duane was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Resident of Thiensville for the past 30 years. He married Sandy in 1977 and began his career in photography in 1978. Duane was a photography instructor at MATC for more than 18 years and a professional photographer for Boston Store and freelance photographer for many years.

Visitation at the funeral home on Saturday, July 16 from 1-3 PM followed by a celebration of Duane's life at 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Ozaukee Humane Society.
