Willie was born on October 21, 1942 to Willie and Susie Gonzales in Eagle Lake, Texas. Willie graduated from Reagan High School in the Heights in 1961.
Willie worked several jobs as a youngster. His first job at age 8 years was shining shoes and selling newspapers. He started as a baker for Mrs. Baird’s bread company until he was hired as a US Postal worker where he was employed for over 40 years as a SSPC Technician. After retiring from the postal service, Willie became employed by The Woodlands Country Club, where he would have to work EVERY Monday.
Willie met Norma, his wife of 37 years on a blind date in 1982 and they married in 1985. They had a beautiful and loving life together.
Willie retired at the age of 58, and his retirement plan was to keep Norma working. Willie loved the Houston Oilers. He had season tickets from the early 1960’s until they left Houston. When The Texans came about, Willie had season tickets with his son Mark until his health declined. Willie loved golf, his 1986 Mercedes 560 SL, officiating high school football, coaching little league baseball, and all his travel adventures. Willie was a board member of Bethel Community Church in Houston, Texas.
Willie was preceded in death by his father, Willie Gonzales, his mother, Susie Gonzales, his brother, Richard Gonzales and his son, Alfred Gallegos.
He is survived by his sons, Mark Gonzales, Roland Gonzales, Chris Flores and wife Liz.
Survived by grandchildren, Gabrielle Garcia and husband Andres, Roland Gonzales II, Jonathan Gonzales, Daniella Gonzales, Cameron Flores, Madelyn Flores, Stephanie Gallegos, Steven Gallegos and Nicholas Gallegos. Great grandchildren, Mateo Garcia, Caleb Garcia and Anthony Gonzales.
Willie is survived by his siblings, Angeline Sanders and husband Don, Cecilia Stricker and husband Bob, Tony Gonzales and wife Henrietta. Willie was loved by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed our family has been for the support and love given to us from Bethel Community Church.
We are thankful for the support of the neighbors, and the family is eternally grateful for the long hours and hospice care given by Martha Gallegos Aaron, Dean Aaron, and Richard Martinez.
Willie was a loving, funny and caring individual. He was known as the "Most Interesting Man in the World". He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

A visitation will occur Friday, January 20, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384.
A funeral service will occur Friday, January 20, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384. A committal service will occur Friday, January 20, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384.
