Sherman Ronald Markowitz

Sherman is survived by his wife Shirley of 29 years, son's, David (Jenessa) Markowitz, Larry (Vicki) Markowitz, daughter Sherri (Steve) Blatt, stepsons Lee (Karen) Groves and David Groves. He leaves behind many loving great grandchildren, grandchildren, and extended family.

With the love surrounded by the Halo of Eternity, Sherman joins his Mother, Father & Brother, Leon, Mollie and Harvey Markowitz in eternal heaven.

Sherman was born in Houston, Texas on October 26, 1937. He was the middle brother of the late Harvey Markowitz and Robert (Joanie) Markowitz. He had a strong bond with his younger brother Robert Markowitz and always felt like he needed to watch and protect his little brother even in adult years. Sherman also served in the United States Marine Corp, was a huge Fisherman with a heart as big as Texas and had a love for all mankind. Sherman will be greatly missed and loved by all.

His greatest Legacy on this earth was his involvement with the Mason's, Arabia Shriner's & Jester's. He joined the Mason's of Blue Lodge on July 30, 1959 and then went on to join the Arabia Shriner's the day after his 22nd birthday in October, 1959. Sherman was highly involved with the Shrine Circus, The Shriner's Burn Hospital in Galveston and made his debut as a Clown driving a funny car in years past.

Known by soo many as Sherman, Sherm, and Uncle Sherm, he was highly involved in his children's lives as they were growing up. He spent countless Sunday's playing golf at Westwood Country Club, driving his kids and their friends around in boating, taking them water skiing and his favorite passion Fishing. Sherman was awarded the Certificate of Honor from B'nai Brith Youth Organization for being an outstanding advisor to Shapiro AZA. He spent much time being involved in his 3 children's lives while they were growing up.

He loved his trips to Ohio to see his great grandchildren, grandchildren and family. He enjoyed spending time with his daughter in law Karen while his wife and stepson would head out Antiquing. Sherman loved bird watching for yellow finch birds while in Ohio, which after time, became "Sherman's Birds". He loved going to the beach with the family and always treasured those memories dear to him.

Services will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Forest Park Woodlands Funeral Home Chapel, 18000 I-45 South, The Woodlands, Texas 77384. Schedule as follows: Visitation from 11:00 - 12:00, Chapel Service from 12:00 - 1:30, and Graveside Service from 2:00 - 3:00 with a reception to follow.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
