Philip Alan Wright

Alan was born in a small town in Ontario, Canada. The fourth child, and third son in the line to Hal and Nolan Wright. This was a close family with many extended family members. In 1959, the family moved to California. They originally landed in San Carlos/Redwood City area but eventually bought a home in south San Jose. Soon after, their Family was complete with the arrival of Alan’s baby sister.

Alan played Little League and enjoyed all sports in school. He was a strong swimmer and loved diving in high school as well.

As a Canadian citizen, Alan was not included in the Vietnam draft. He did volunteer, however, and served in the Army. He met his loving wife, Susan, shortly after.

Alan & Susan were married September 7, 1974 and had 3 children Dennis, Kandra and Kevin.

Alan’s eldest brother Steve had moved to Texas to start his business and called Alan to come and work with him. It was then that Alan and Sue moved to Texas to raise their family.

In February 2001 their first granddaughter, Payton was born and in September 2004 they welcomed their second granddaughter, Paige. His granddaughters were the light in his eyes.

Alan was a devoted husband, father and friend. He was a hardworking, simple and humble man who loved spending time with his family, fishing and restoring cars. Alan was always there when you needed him and will be greatly missed by many.

Preceded in death by son, Kevin Wright ; parents, Frederick & Florence Wright ; sister, Shirley Michelon, and brother, Dennis Wright.

Survived by: wife, Susan Wright ; son, Dennis Wright; daughter,Kandra Armstrong & husband Jason; granddaughters, Payton & Paige Armstrong; brother, Stephen Wright & wife Jeannie; sister, Tracy Hillier & husband Will; brother in law, Orlando Michelon; numerous nieces, nephews, family & friends he loved dearly.

A memorial service for Philip will be held at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home in The Woodlands, Texas on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
