Patrick Winfred Taylor, 75, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2024. Born on November 14, 1948, in Houston, Patrick attended Robert E. Lee High School before proudly serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he completed two tours in Vietnam. His dedication and bravery during his military service were emblematic of the courage and strength he exhibited throughout his life.
After his honorable discharge, Patrick embarked on a successful career as the financial director at Gulf States Toyota, a position he held for almost 30 years. Known for his unwavering work ethic and integrity, Patrick was highly respected by his colleagues and peers.
Patrick was a man of many passions. He loved music, good food, word games, and socializing with friends and family. Despite his love for a good party, Patrick maintained a strong relationship with God, balancing his zest for life with a deep sense of spirituality. His remarkable tech and PC skills were a testament to his lifelong curiosity and willingness to embrace new challenges.
A courageous, kind, and generous man, Patrick's greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law, and friend. His family and friends will forever cherish the lessons he imparted, the laughter he brought, his wonderful sense of humor, and the countless memories made together.
Patrick is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Janis Taylor; his brothers, Michael Taylor and Tim Taylor; and his sister, Kathleen Pratt.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Taylor, his sisters, Trisha Sanguinetti of San Antonio, TX and Cissy Kopycinski, Saginaw, TX and his children: Shanda Cheesman (Luke) of Danville, IL; Angela Carreiro of Brenham, TX; Sean Patrick Taylor (Kristen) of La Porte, TX; Nicole Land (Cassity) Hockley, TX; Christopher Dekker of London, UK; and Cassidy Dekker of Cape Town, SA. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Kaleb Kelley, Kayla Blundy, Jared Cheesman, Adam Carreiro Jr. (AJ), Alyssa Carreiro, Aiden Land, and Atlas Finn-Patrick Taylor, as well as his great-grandchildren: Dayton Kelley, Denver Kelley, Landen Blundy, and Layne Blundy.
Patrick's unwavering spirit and love for his family will be deeply missed. He fought valiantly over the past two years, embodying the true spirit of a warrior. Now, he is finally home free and at peace.
A funeral service will be held at the Houston National Cemetery. The date and time has not yet been set.
