Michelle Collins, age 42, of Magnolia, Texas, passed away on January 26, 2024. She was born on May 3, 1981, in Metairie, Louisiana, to Julie Carmouche-Jackson and the late Harry S. Carmouche, Jr. Michelle was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, and she was adored by all who were lucky enough to have known her. She had a flair for visual details and design, and she lived life to the fullest, always embracing every moment. Michelle's greatest joy came from the love she shared with her children, Drew and Stella Collins.
Michelle is survived by her beloved children, her mother Julie Carmouche-Jackson, stepfather Frank Jackson, brother Joshua Carmouche (Meagan), step brothers Spenser and Mason Jackson, stepsister Kaylee Jackson, and her cherished nephews and nieces: Aiden Carmouche, Luke Carmouche, Darren Collins II, Kairo Jackson, and Harper Jackson. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Warren J. Palmisano, grandmothers Mary Jane James Palmisano and Mathilda Larroux Carmouche, and her father Harry S. Carmouche, Jr.
Michelle graduated from Destrehan High School and later earned a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication at Loyola University New Orleans. After a successful early career in retail management, Michelle made the choice to be at home with her young children. As they grew older, she answered her life's calling and re-entered the workforce as a teacher. Michelle found fulfillment in her role as an educator at both Theiss Elementary in Klein ISD and Smith Elementary in Magnolia ISD. She was honored to be chosen as a model for her peers and led a professional learning community.
A catered Visitation for Michelle will be held in Texas on February 10th, 2024, at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home and Cemetery from 10am-2pm. A memorial service will follow at 2pm. Memorial services will also take place in New Orleans at a later date, with further details forthcoming.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the GoFundMe account set up for Michelle's children.
Michelle Collins will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. The family is especially thankful for her very dear friends and support system in Texas. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts.
