Larry is survived by his loving wife, Anne, his son, Bob Plummer, his daughters and sons-in-law Patty and Vince Whelan, Nancy and Bobby Mitchell, his grandson Mathew Whelan and wife Kelli, his granddaughter Laura Firmin and husband Kevin, his grandson Austin, and great grandchildren Kendal, Ava, Lily, Kegan and Cole.
Born on June 3, 1925, in Seymour, Texas, Larry graduated from The University of Texas with a civil engineering degree. He worked for the FAA and other US government agencies as an engineer and retired in 1991 after 44 years. Larry met and married his “Georgia peach” while attending Mercer University in Macon, Georgia during World War II service as an Ensign with the US Navy. Larry and his devoted wife, Anne, went through life hand-in-hand for 64 wonderful years of marriage. Devout Christians, they are members of the First Baptist Church of The Woodlands and former members of the First Baptist Church of Pasadena.
Services will be held in the chapel at the Forest Park Funeral Home in The Woodlands on Thursday May 5, 2011, at two o'clock. Interment will follow in Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday May 4, 2011, from six to eight o'clock.
