He was born in New Kensington, PA on May 15, 1942. John graduated from Arnold High School and received a BA in Biology from Gannon University.
He was married to the love of his life, Alice Bruncsak, on November 25, 1967. They spent 57 memorable years together living life to the fullest.
John had a successful career in the oil and gas industry specializing in the management of trading, marketing and aviation fuels. His career began with Shell Oil and continued with Transworld Oil, TOSCO Refining, and Conoco Phillips. John loved his work and the many friendships he cultivated.
He was a member of the Metropolitan Energy Council and the Society of Independent Gas Marketers of America. In June of 1999, John was honored by the Metropolitan Energy Council as recipient of their Man of the Year award.
John had a passion for golfing, traveling, fine dining, cooking, storytelling, and making people laugh. John never met a stranger, and was a friend to all. However, John’s greatest passion was that of his family. Nothing gave him greater joy than being surrounded by his family members.
He is survived by his wife Alice, daughter Alexandra (spouse Chris), son Christian (wife Katie), and his granddaughters Alexis and Kathryn. He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Olive and sister Paula.
A visitation for John will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 5-7 at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home and Cemetery, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands TX, 77384. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, November 15, 2024, at Our Lady of The Angels, 8715 Kuykendahl Rd., The Woodlands, TX 77382.
