James Earl Hare Jr., 86, went home to be with his Lord Jesus January 28, 2012. He was born November 7, 1925 in McAlester, Okla. to the late James Earl Hare Sr. and Clemmie Estelle Davenport. He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 63 ½ years, Norma Jeanne Hare. James is survived by his daughters Sue Fussell and husband Mike of Humble, TX, Pamela Shappell Blair and the late Eddie Blair of Conroe, TX; son James Hare of Sommerville, TX; granddaughters Kim Axtel and husband Jay, Tracy Peck and husband Dave, Michelle Kirby and Mary Gibbins, Wendy Belford and husband Jake and Katy “Scout” Hare; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; sister Ruby Irene Webb of Rockwall, TX; and brother Gerald Lee Hare and wife Ann of San Angelo, TX.
James was in the Navy and served proudly in WWII. He worked for the Rock Island and Southern Pacific Railroad, where he retired after 45 years as Division Superintendent. He was a member of Louetta Road Baptist Church in Spring, TX.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M., Monday, January 30, 2012 at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home. Funeral Services are set for 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 31, 2012 in the Mausoleum at Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery. Interment will follow in Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery.
