Haley was born in The Woodlands on February 18, 1993, to Ed and Simone Houston. From an early age, Haley cared deeply about her family. Soon after you met Haley, inevitably you would also meet her sister, Amanda Pallotta (and husband Dominic), and Haley’s parents. You might even receive an invite to the family lakehouse on Lake Conroe, a gathering place of many happy memories with family and friends throughout Haley’s life.
Her love of children led Haley to become a nanny, though her dream was to become a mother herself. She enjoyed decorating her home for every occasion so her friends and family felt welcome. Her quick wit and infectious smile were on display as she entertained, cooked, and spent her days taking care of those around her. She always had an encouraging word and an uplifting spirit for those who needed it, she truly loved unconditionally.
Just three months before a fairytale wedding to her husband Taylor Odlozil, of The Woodlands, Haley was diagnosed with Stage IIIC ovarian cancer in December 2015. Despite a serious prognosis and daunting treatment plan, Haley chose to fight for as long as she could with her husband and family by her side. As she fought, and in true Haley fashion, she was concerned about others more than herself and shared her story to millions of people from speaking engagements and a social media presence which spread ovarian cancer awareness and encouraged countless women to be strong advocates for their health.
Haley and Taylor were blessed to become parents to Weston Bennett Odlozil in January 2019, realizing Haley’s lifelong dream of becoming a mother. The sweet and caring young woman we all knew was naturally an incredible mother and raised an incredible son and fought to be with him as long as she could. Weston will grow up with mementos and videos of his mother and will be surrounded by a loving family his entire life.
Haley was preceded in death by her grandfather and grandmother, Bennie and Dixie Houston of Houston, Texas, and is survived by her parents, her loving husband Taylor, her adorable son Weston, her sister Amanda (and husband Dominic), niece Layla and nephew Landon, of The Woodlands, her grandparents Roy and Marie Brunson of The Woodlands, parents-in-law Richard and Laurie Odlozil of The Woodlands, sister-in-law Jordan Odlozil of The Woodlands, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses, friends, prayer warriors, and even strangers who cared for, supported, and loved Haley.
Haley’s life will be celebrated at a private memorial service followed by a graveside service for close family. In lieu of flowers, Haley would encourage donations to worthwhile organizations or causes in her honor. She never stopped thinking of others and will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved her.
