George Robert Reneer

George, son of Robert and Ester Reneer, was born on January 29, 1939 in Owensboro, Kentucky. He grew up as one of five children.

After graduating from the Warrick County Common School in 1953, he served in the US Navy and received an honorable discharge in 1967.

George moved to Miami, Florida after leaving the Navy, where he met his wife Barbara (Hair) Reneer. They were married on February 14, 1969 and recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. In 1970, they moved to Houston, Texas and eventually settled in Conroe, Texas and raised two daughters together.

George was an avid college football and basketball fan whose favorite teams were the Texas A&M Aggies and the University of Houston Cougars. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, watching NASCAR and the Houston Astros, and spending time with his two grandsons.

George was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Margaret (“Libby”).

George is survived by his wife Barbara, sisters Barbara (“Bubbles”) and Cora (“Cookie”) and brother Sherman, as well as his children April (Reneer) Phelps and Laura Reneer, son-in-law Paul Phelps and grandchildren Brayden Phelps and Jaxon Phelps, as well as many other close family member and friends.
