She was born in Yoakum, Texas on July 17, 1930 to parents John Henry Lanik and Lucille Beatrice Kloda.
Her early years were spent living on the family farm in Sweet Home, Texas with her brothers and sister, and extended family. The family moved to Danbury, Texas where Corrine graduated Valedictorian of her class at Danbury High School in 1947. Corrine went on to college at Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas, graduating with a degree in Journalism, in 1950. That same year, Corrine began her career at Sears, Roebuck & Co., and was the Executive Secretary to the General Manager in Houston retiring after 40 years of service. Wanting to stay active, Corrine went to work for the Klein ISD administration offices in the accounting department where she worked until her late 70’s.
Married for 67 1/2 years, Corrine met her husband Edward Donald Richardson in 1956 through mutual friends, and they married on November 25, 1956, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Houston, Texas.
During Corrine’s long career, she was a member and past president of Executive Women’s International (EWI), Houston, Texas chapter, where she became lifelong friends with many other women working in the executive field in Houston companies. As an avid animal lover, Corrine was dedicated to all the family pets, leaving fond memories of her grey and white cat, Muffin, who was often seen sleeping on her during afternoon naps.
Corrine was a faithful member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, and enjoyed attending weekly Mass. She was dedicated and loving to her family, and a loyal friend to all who knew her.
