Calvin E. Davis

He was born on April 25, 1926 in Norfolk, VA, son of the late Ida W. Davis and William C. Davis. A graduate of the University of Virginia, 1949, and life member of his fraternity, Sigma Chi, Mr. Davis was a long-time resident of Virginia Beach, VA and Silver Spring, MD, before moving to The Woodlands, TX, in 2010.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of 11 years, Lisa Davis of The Woodlands, TX; two daughters, Deborah A. Davis of Winchester, VA, Patricia L. Davis of Vancouver, Canada; son Kevin E. Davis of Memphis, TN; and brother Winston M. Davis of Virginia Beach, VA; stepsons Eric and Roy Hudgens, both of Texas; grandsons Sean and Steven O'Brien, Cody Davis, Calvin Davis and Evan Passuth. He was preceded in death by his four sisters, Marian D. Machen, Louise D. Mullin, Marjorie D. Coleman and Ann D. Bonney; and brother, William C. Davis, Jr.; and first wife of 39 years, Patricia N. Davis who passed away in 1989.

Mr. Davis joined the Army during World War 2 and remained in the Army reserves for over 30 years until retiring as a colonel. He also gave 25 years of distinguished service to the US State Department, retiring in 1980. During his life, Mr. Davis lived in the far east for approximately 7 years, in the service of his county.
