Anna Burdick, 77, of Canyon Lake, passed away peacefully November 14, 2024. She was born in Houston on April 11, 1947 to Walter Groth and Elsie Miller. Anna graduated from San Jacinto High School, spending time at the University of Houston and the University of Texas at Austin where she met the love of her life and college sweetheart, Edward “Ned” Burdick. Anna and Ned celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary in March 2024 and days after Ned unexpectedly passed away.
Next to her husband her greatest loves in this world were her two boys and as a mom she was an all-time great. When her boys got married that same love continued with their wives, and when they had children of their own her love spread to all seven of her grandchildren and any sport or activity in which they participated.
After moving to Canyon Lake, TX in 2000 Anna looked for another way to redirect the time, love, and care she had for her family to support various charitable causes within her community. She loved serving and caring for others and always put others’ needs ahead of her own. The Pilot Club of Canyon Lake became her second family, becoming a long-time member and serving as a board member.
Anna is survived by her two sons and their families, Patrick and Kari Burdick of Houston, and their children: Miles, Oliver, and Henry; Kyle and Brittney Burdick of Montgomery, TX and their children: Cana, Micah, Charis, and Asher. Anna is also survived by her half-brother, Lou Groth, and his wife Carol, her half-sister, Teri Schneider, and her husband Mike, and her half-brother Tinker Groth. Anna is preceded in death by her husband, Ned Burdick, her mother, Elsie Miller, and her father, Walter Groth.
A memorial service will be held on November 26th at 11am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (Our Lady of the Angels Chapel) in The Woodlands, TX. The graveside memorial will be held at Houston National Cemetery at 2pm. Attendees should be in the car line by 1:45pm.
