Ann was born on October 14, 1960 to Anita and Russell Campbell in San Antonio, Texas. She attended St. Paul’s Catholic school and Jefferson High and graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering. She joined Mobil Oil as an Operations Engineer and advanced to supervisor positions in Operations Engineering before moving to Mobil Natural Gas. In 1990, Ann took a three-year respite from working, earning a Master in Business Administration from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. She rejoined Mobil (and eventually ExxonMobil), and throughout her career, she held Advisory & Management positions in Gas Marketing, Procurement & Supply Chain, Major Capital Projects and Drilling Quality. In her professional life, she was known for her strong work ethic, problem solving, and for mentoring others around the world.
Ann married the love of her life, Tom Juranek, surrounded by family as well as a record 13.5” of snow, on January 12th, 1985 at St. Paul’s Catholic church in San Antonio, Texas. She gave life to two daughters, Jennifer and Rebecca, who she raised with joy and pride. Ann loved spending time with family more than anything. She planned many get-togethers and was often the life of the party--her smile and laugh were contagious. She treasured the memories from the many family and work related trips she took, to Hawaii with Anita and Russell for her and Tom’s anniversary, to Europe when Rebecca was a baby, to Prague with Carol, Sharon, and Jennifer, to Arches National Park with Rebecca, Carol, and Ted, to Disney World many times, Spain, Mexico, the Grand Canyon, and many others. She was always planning her next adventure or her next chance to visit relatives.
Ann also enjoyed bike riding, swimming, walking, hiking, doing yoga, and reading, and she served as an award-winning Girl Scout Leader for over 25 years. In honor of her parents and their inspiration to pursue careers in math and science, she established a University of Texas Endowed Engineering Scholarship.
Ann was known for her outgoing and friendly personality, her adventurous spirit, and her love and generosity to her family and friends. She was a devout Catholic and lived out her faith. She was always looking for opportunities to volunteer or help out those in need. She will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her mother Anita Marie Marnoch Campbell, her father Russell Leroy Campbell, and her nephew Anthony Campbell. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Thomas Anthony Juranek, her daughters Jennifer Ann Juranek and Rebecca Rose Juranek, her sister Carol Rose Campbell, her brother James Russell Campbell, his wife Sarah, and their sons: Andrew James Campbell and Callum James Campbell, and her brother Ted Gerard Campbell.
