I was sorely dissappointed and sad that I didn't get to see Gary more as we grew older. He was so full of life and the wide eyed wander that made him such a great friend and outdoorsmen. He was feircley protective of his family and friends. A real hero who served this nation with pride and dignity.

Etta, our thoughts and prayers are with you. I have been thinking of you since you called with the sad news. Cindy and I both enjoyed our time shared with you and Gary. Know that Gary will be missed. For all of us who share the work we do, it just won't ever be the same.

Gary got me into the adjusting world in 1996 and was my mentor.  He had a heart of gold and will be missed by friends and family across the country.  He was my friend...and I don't say that about many people.  He was a good man...I will always be Gary's "Man Friday."

I had the pleasure of working with Gary for a few years now. He was always a joy to speak with. My thoughts and prayers are with the Surprise family. He will deeply missed by all of us.

My sincere sympathy to the family of Gary.  Even though I never met Gary or Walter in person, I did have the privilege of working with both in 2010 following storms that hit east Tennessee.  May our Lord's Blessings be with you.

Our hearts and prayers go out to you and all of the family. I felt your loss when you called me to let me know that Gary had passed. I remember when I first met you andd Gary and a little baby. It seems like yesterday that we were in New Orleans. I will miss him. He was a close friend and like a brother.
