Brown was born on May 10, 1919. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Troy F. Brown, with whom she is joyfully reunited to celebrate their 73rd wedding anniversary on May 4, 2013; her adored parents, Mae and Allen
Adams; and her brother and sister-in-law, Dorothy and Gene Aaron. Arlene is survived by her only child, Susie, who is blessed with such loving parents; Patti Hall, her “adopted” daughter; chiweenie Peanut who brought great joy over the past year; and other cherished family and friends who will miss her. Arlene was a member of the Ruth Bible Study Class at First Baptist Church, Moores Lane. Earlier in life,she served in leadership positions with several civic organizations. Special gratitude is expressed to Pastors Jeff Schreve and Larry Sims for their love and spiritual guidance,and to countless friends who are treasured as extended family. Assistance for Arlene by Marilyn Reed and Connie Funderburk is deeply appreciated. The caring nurses and staff in ICU at Christus St. Michael Hospital brought peace and comfort in recent days. Visitation will be Sunday, May 5, 2013 at East Funeral Home-Moores Lane from 2 to 4pm. Services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, May 6, 2013 at East Memorial Chapel – Moores Lane with Pastor Larry Sims officiating, followed by brief graveside prayers at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens. Burial is under the direction of East Funeral Home – Moores Lane.
