A life-long coal miner, Bob knew the value of hard work. He worked for the United Mine Workers, Amax Coal Company, and Operating Engineers. Bob loved to travel and tinker, combining both hobbies to convert a Greyhound bus into an RV so he and Anita could travel anywhere. He also liked to tinker with his heavy equipment. He also built two homes completely from the ground up.
When he wasn’t busy, Bob enjoyed the peace and quiet at his cabin in Mansfield or out on his boat. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. He was also a member of the North Terre Haute Men’s Club, where he and Anita would go to square dance. Bob and Anita also enjoyed many years of playing bingo.
Bob’s family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for their kind and compassionate care during his extended illness.
Visitation will be held from 11 to 1 p.m. on Monday, May 6 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Lilly officiating. Bob will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.roselawnfuneralhome.net
