Paul Cottrell Jr., 89. passed away on September 7, 2022. He was a veteran who served in the U.S. Navy as an Electronics Technician. He received the Good Conduct Medal and the China Service Medal while serving. He retired from IBM as a Customer Engineer. Paul was born on June 17, 1933 in Rockville, Indiana.
Paul and his wife, Janey, were married for almost 69 years. They loved to travel together and spend winters in Florida. Paul was known as the Shuffleboard King and won a Sportsmanship Award. His first love was farming. Paul enjoyed watching his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids fish in their pond. He was a member of Cross Lane Church and the IBM Breakfast Club.
Paul is survived by his wife Janey, three sons, Micheal (Jessica), Mark (Shannon), and Marty. He was a Papaw to eight grandchildren, Joe, Josh (Aimee), Brandy Layne (Byron), Ben (Ashlee), Justin (Jenny), Adam (Leslee), Jacob (Olivia), and Mitch as well as ten great grandchildren, Jenna, Makayla, Taylor, Wiley, Lane, A.J., Leo, Brock, Daniel, and Olivia. Paul is also survived by his brothers Dale Cottrell (Judith) and Charlie Cotttrell (Kay).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Cottrell and Rosalie Cottrell, James Richard Cottrell (brother), Judith Cottrell (sister-in-law), and Martha Cottrell (daughter-in-law).
Services will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home in Terre Haute, Indiana on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. Visitation is from 11:00am-1:00pm. A funeral ceremony will follow at 1:00pm.
Paul will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park.
