Mary Evelyn Fisher

Mary Evelyn Fisher, 78, of Rosedale, Indiana died at 2:35 am Sunday January 26, 2014 in Union Hospital at Clinton.
She was the Secretary for the Superintendent of Parke County Schools early in her career. She then taught special needs children in Rockville during the beginning years of Child Adult Resource Services. She retired as a teacher's aide for Vigo County School Corporation after many years of service.
She was born November 10, 1935 in Rosedale, Indiana to the late Mahlon Chaney and Nora Lowe Chaney. Her husband of 60 years, John W. Fisher whom she married July 3, 1953 in Mecca survives. Also surviving, one daughter, Teresa (Bill) Westerman of Terre Haute, Indiana; one brother, Jerry Chaney of Terre Haute, Indiana; two grandchildren Melissa (John) Boyd of Terre Haute and John Scott Westerman of Rosedale, Indiana; five great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Cantrell, Brode Boyd, Carter Boyd, Harlie Westerman and Derek Westerman; several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Rosedale Baptist Church, Rosedale Home Economics Club, Red Hat Society, Sycamore A Car Club and the Delta Theta Tau Sorority.
Services will be 11:00 am Thursday, January 30, in Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home at 287 N. Main Street, Rosedale, with the Rev. Randy McPike officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery at Terre Haute. Visitation is 4-8 pm Wednesday at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home.
