Kathryn L. Stephens

Kathryn Louise Hart Stephens, 95, of Terre Haute, IN., passed away peacefully at Royal Oaks Nursing Home on January 27, 2013. She was born in Fort Wayne, IN. on November 23, 1917, to Earl and Mary Hart. She was the oldest of seven siblings.

Kathryn was married to Charles Joseph Stephens on August 13, 1938. They had 3 children Patricia, Michael, and Rita. She was a homemaker, an active member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, and an avid golfer. She will be greatly missed by her family and everyone that knew her.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, her brothers Harold, Earl, and Robert; and her sister Edna. She is survived by her children Patricia and William McCarty, Michael and Janice Stephens, and Rita and Donald Balder. She has 9 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary at Roselawn Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 12:30 p.m. until the time of Kathryn’s Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph University Parish, 113 S. 5th St. Friar John Bamman, OFM. Conv. will celebrate mass with the Rite of Committal to follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family is asking donations be made to Sacred Heart of Jesus Altar Society.
