Katherine “Katie” Elizabeth Carson, 27, of Carmel and formerly of Terre Haute passed away on Monday, January 13, 2020 at Ezkenazi Hospital in Indianapolis, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 28, 1992 in Terre Haute to Ronald Marvin Carson and Kimberly Sue (Lamb) Smith.
Katie is survived by her children: Roman Jarrett, Sofina Johnson, Willow Johnson, Issac Johnson, and Dallas Burgess; siblings, Ashley Carson, Zachary Carson, Dalton McCullough, Rashawn Nicoson, Samuel Carson, and Tre Richey; mother, Kim Smith and wife Paula; father, Ronald Carson and partner Kristy Nicoson; loving husband, Harold Burgess, grandmother, Hilah Siddens and Pat; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Katie attended Terre Haute North Vigo High School. She worked at Texas Roadhouse in Carmel prior to devoting her time to her five children. Known for being spunky, Katie was iron-willed, independent, and opinionated. She was a caring person who would help anyone in need. A friend to everyone and loved by many, Katie touched many lives throughout her short time on earth. She was a loving, devoted mother, sister, daughter, and friend. Katie was the glue that held her family together. Her brilliant smile, beautiful voice, and indomitable spirit will forever be remembered and cherished by her family.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 18 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home with Deacon Paul Smith officiating. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.roselawnfuneralhome.net
