David Andrew Johnson, 43, recently of Salisbury, North Carolina and formerly of Terre Haute, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 13, 2022, after a 25 year long battle with neurological issues which culminated in a stroke. He was born on October 29, 1979, in Terre Haute to Randy and Linda (Harvey) Johnson, their first born child.
David is survived by his parents, Randy and Linda Johnson; two younger brothers, Michael Johnson of Gordonsville, Virginia and Daniel Johnson of Vincennes, Indiana, as well as a beloved younger sister, Emma Johnson also of Salisbury, North Carolina; three aunts, Raelane (Dane) Hoff, Donna (John) Saltsgaver, and Mary (Terry) Plasket; and one uncle, Willie (Elaine) Harvey in addition to many first and second cousins whom he loved.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Willie and Susan Harvey, grandparents Robert and Emily Johnson, and an uncle, James Harvey.
David enjoyed reading the Bible, participating in bible studies, playing the drums, watching Gordon Ramsey and various Professional Wrestling groups through the years. He was a gamer. He loved helping out with blood drives, food pantries and various outreaches. David was loyal, patriotic, an animal lover and a defender of the underdog. David was also an organ donor who was honored as such at the Novant Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he passed.
A funeral Ceremony of Remembrance will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Roselawn Funeral Home in Terre Haute, Indiana. The officiant will be Reverend Carlos King of Richmond, Indiana, a well-loved, long-time friend of David. David will later be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park.
