Clarence E. Ward, 80, of Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at his home. He was born on November 6, 1935, in Terre Haute to Cecil W. and Bonnie A. (Wilkins) Ward. His wife, Sandra L. (Nidey) Ward, preceded him in death on December 7, 1987.
Clarence served in the United States Navy during the end of the Korean War. He was a retired Postal Clerk.
He is survived by his daughter, Diana Summitt and husband Dan of Spencer; three sons, Michael Ward and wife Penny of Terre Haute, James Ward and wife Karen of Lafayette, and Gerald Ward and girlfriend Julie Atkinson of Terre Haute; three grandchildren, Christopher Stanley, Hannah Summitt and boyfriend Sheldon England, and Jacob Summitt; one brother, Don Ward and wife Toni of Terre Haute; two sisters, Rosemary Sharp and husband Fred of Michigan City, Donna Burgess and husband Sonny of Campbill, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
Clarence was also preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Bonnie Ward; and four brothers, Charles, John, Milford, and Kenneth Ward.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 8 at Roselawn Funeral Home and from noon until the time of service on Saturday, January 9. A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home. Clarence will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park.
